Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory Costume

We love Willy Wonka (the original)! It was without hesitation that I KNEW we needed to make this a family theme. For my oldest daughter, I found a plain red dress online and I added black buttons, lace, and a black belt for the details to look like Veruca Salt. She even had a "golden egg" that Veruca so desparately wanted. My hubby made a great Willy Wonka, complete with cane! I got an inflatable blue suit and some blue make-up, then added the buttons and stretched out belt (plus I was chewing gum) for my Violet Beauregard costume. My son made a great Charlie Bucket! We had a handmade red scarf, some clothes I purchased second hand, and I made him a golden ticket, as well as a Wonka Bar! Last but not least, my youngest daughter was our Oompa Loompa! She was willing to let me paint her face orange and I used white make-up for the eyebrows. We just love this theme and hope you do too! :)
